Acorn Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you have had a fantastic half term and are refreshed, ready for what will be a very short and intensive rest term.

We will be jumping right into the start of term by celebrating Shrove Tuesday, World Book Day and ending with our annual Easter celebrations. This term Acorn Class will be learning all about how to be “Investigators,” This will include lots of opportunities for the children to use reasoning and problem solving skills.

In Acorns, Mrs Hindsley will be volunteering with us 2 days a week.  Mrs Hindsley is working towards her qualifications in becoming a teaching assistant, we are very fortunate to have an extra pair of hands to work alongside Miss Hardy!

Home time

It is super important that your child is delivered to you at the end of the day safely. Please, if you do not already, could you stand closer to the Acorn line,  it will allow your child and the teacher to easily spot you. Thank you!

PE  and spare clothes

Please can you continue to make sure your child’s PE kit is in school on Mondays. However, this day may be subject to change so it would be helpful to have this kit in school every day!

We are outside every day in all weathers in Acorns, so to have warm clothes is a MUST. They will get wet and muddy on a daily basis (part of the fun of outdoor learning), so if your child has not already got wellingtons please feel free to pack a pair. As part of your spare clothes that you will pack- please add socks as well as underwear, it is always a bonus to find a spare pair of socks when your child has wet feet.

Nursery Funding

Please remember that if your child is entitled to 30 hours funding you must renew your application each half term.  The term is short so do not run out of time!

Thank you,

Mrs Mansfield
