Acorn Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you had a fantastic half term break; the weather has been quite kind. Our topic this term will focus on Growing.  We will be learning about life cycles, plant life, features of spring and how we can grow healthy to name but a few activities. We would be delighted to hear from you if you can help us with our learning.

Tapestry update

I trust that you have all had time to go on Tapestry and thank you for your contributions. In the classroom we now have a board to celebrate all of the photos which you have shared on Tapestry. As a reward for you and your family for posting on Tapestry you will get to take Sooty and Sweep home for the night.

Home learning

Over the next few weeks I would like to invite you to help me fill in a form regarding “Characteristics of Learning,” (taken from Development Matters in the EYFS curriculum) for your child/children. This is another way of celebrating your child’s character and creativity, for example how they solve problems or apply their own ideas and suggestions to a situation.

Reading Café

In Acorns we are also planning to have a reading café, this will take place once a month. The idea of the reading café is to enjoy sharing a book with your child/children. The first session will be on 4th March 2:30 till 3:00.  A hot drink will be available but please bring a thermal mug.

What your child will need on a day to day basis

Each day children will need to bring water bottles, diaries and reading books.  Please record your reading in the planners to ensure your child’s book can be changed. PE continues to be on a Wednesday morning with Mr Hopkinson.

It is also useful for your child to have a change of underwear and clothes as we will be going out regularly in all weathers.

Nursery Parents

Please remember that if your child is entitled to 30 hours funding you must renew your application each half term. This now done electronically via the portal, please see Mrs Hart or Mrs Mansfield for more details.

We also have Stay and Play Sessions which you are welcome to attend, please see the poster for more details.
