Acorn Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you had a fantastic half term break; the weather has been quite kind.  The children have settled back into their routine and our topics this term will focus on Festivals and Seasons.  We would be delighted to hear from you if you can help us with our learning.

PE

This term PE will be taught by Mr Hopkinson on a Wednesday morning, but please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day in case this day changes.

Tapestry update

A reminder that Tapestry has a portal for you as parents/carers to upload photos of your child’s home learning and achievements. If you would like assistance with this, please come and see me. Child initiated learning is as valuable at home as it is in school and we would love to see what the children have been doing with you.

What your child will need on a day to day basis

Each day your child will need to bring; water bottles, diaries and reading books.  High frequency words will also be given to your child, they will be encouraged to site read these words as they cannot be easily decoded, for example; the, go, into and I.  As the children progress with their reading this list will vary.  Please record your reading in the planners to ensure your child’s book can be changed. It is also a good opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

It is also useful for your child to have a change of clothes and underwear, as we will be going out regularly in all weathers to explore the topic of seasons.

Nursery Parents

Please remember that if your child is entitled to 30 hours funding you must renew your application each half term.  Funding becomes available for the term after the application. This is now done all electronically via the portal, please see Mrs Hart or Mrs Mansfield for more details.

We also have Stay and Play Sessions which you are welcome to attend, please see the poster for more details.

Thankyou,

Mrs Mansfield
