Acorn Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you had a restful half term. This term we will be learning about under the sea and above the sea.

This term PE will focus on “movement,” and will be over at the field when the weather is suitable. Reception children will also be participating in Sports Day with the rest of the school so the PE team will prepare the children for working in teams as well as developing their sport skills. Nursery children will be participating in sports activity in the afternoon. A letter will go out to confirm details closer the time.

What your child will need on a day to day basis

Each day your child will need to bring; water bottles, diaries and reading books.  Homework is not usually given to Acorns (Reception children), although it is recommended that they read at least ten minutes per day (see Homework Policy).  Please can you continue to write in your child’s diary to show any home reading so that books can be changed.

Nursery Parents

Please remember that if your child is entitled to 30 hours funding you must renew your application each half term.

Reception children

This term the reception children will be completing a reading challenge, if your child reads every day of the week and there is a note to record this reading with a positive comment the children will receive a special reward. Please work together to complete this challenge. Of course nursery children are welcome to join in and share books.

If you do have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me,

Thank you,

Mrs Mansfield
