Acorn Class

Welcome we wish you the very best for 2018.

This term we are learning all about Winter and the Polar Regions. If you have been to either region and are willing to share your experience with Acorns do not hesitate to get in touch!

Time table change

We will be introducing the children to Wild Discovery; this will be taught by Mr Collin Clark who will be supported by the PE team. This will involve the children using the green area. Please provide a warm coat and wellington boots. Wild Discovery develops a whole range of skills including problem solving and creativity.  More information about Wild Discovery will be available from Mr Clarke.

Tapestry update

We will continue to get more established with Tapestry to share photos regularly of your child’s achievements.

What your child will need on a day to day basis

Each day your child will need to bring; water bottles, diaries and reading books.  Homework is not usually given to Acorns, I would ask if you can read with your child everyday as this will be beneficial! Whether it is sharing a book from the library or using a reading book it will all have a positive impact on your child’s/children’s literacy skills. Please can you continue to write in your child’s diary to show any reading that is done at home, so that books can be changed.  Thankyou.

Your child/children will need the following kit each day

Monday- Wild Discovery (wellingtons and waterproof trousers are currently in school) – Details to be confirmed

Thursday- Children will need their PE kits (please keep in school in case the day changes)

Friday-  Library books will be changed

It is also useful for your child to have a change of clothes (particularly underwear)

Once again if you do have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
