Acorn Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you had a fantastic summer holiday; the weather has been quite kind!  This term we will be settling into a new routine for some of the children and for others this term will be a time of coming to school for longer hours! Our topics this term will focus on “Ourselves,” and “People Who Help Us,”   We would be delighted to hear from you if you have any contacts with the police, ambulance or fire service!

You may also notice over the next few weeks that we will be getting some new equipment and I would like to thank the HSA for their donations.

This term PE will focus on “movement,” and will be taught by members of the PE team. PE is scheduled to be taught on a Wednesday morning, but please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day.

Tapestry update

I trust that you have all had time to go on Tapestry- if you are having problems or have not had any communication from school please let me know. Tapestry is the main way of communicating your child’s achievements and next steps. It is also a good way for you to share home learning with the school.

What your child will need on a day to day basis

Each day your child will need to bring; water bottles, diaries and reading books.  Homework is not usually given to Acorns (Reception children), although it is recommended that they read or share a book at least ten minutes per day (see Homework Policy).  Please record you’re reading in the planners to ensure your child’s/children’s book can be changed.

It is also useful for your child to have a change of clothes (particularly underwear)

Nursery Parents

Please remember that if your child is entitled to 30 hours funding you must renew your application each half term. This now done all electronically via the portal,  please see Mrs Hart or Mrs Mansfield for more details.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 11th September for an informal chat about the Early Years at 2:30, please sign in at the office.
