Welcome to the Waveney Valley Partnership Federation website - we are a family of small primary schools working closely together with the shared objective of providing the very best education and support to pupils in community focused schools. Our existing schools St.Edmund’s in Hoxne and Mendham benefit from great staff, delightful children and very well resourced facilities.
We have recently (1st August 2016) undergone academy conversion, which in essence means that we have moved away from being a Suffolk County Council maintained school and are now funded and directly accountable to the Department for Education. While little change will be noticed at classroom level, this has meant a significant amount of change and improvement in how the schools are managed and run. Our new ‘parent’ organisation is The Consortium Multi-Academy Trust and you can find out more by looking at the school-to-school support tab or visiting ‘The Consortium’ website (under construction).
While both schools are small our partnership working allows us to punch well above our weight, both schools have been judged as Good; by OFSTED. Our Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural support for our pupils was described as Outstanding; we are happy and lively places to learn. We aim to help develop every child with the support of family and community to become independent, positive members of society. We promote the British values and a sense of fair play through a great PE and the wider creative curriculum. Pupils through the efforts of the school council actively support a number of local, national and international charities and our close working relationship with the 1st Fressingfield Scout Group, local churches and other organisations ensures that our pupils have a real sense of place in the world. In addition to the great class teaching, we offer further extension activities for our pupils - we have our own sports teacher and enter a wide range of sporting events. We also offer a broad curriculum with Forest School, Latin and excellence booster classes to name a few.
Our schools offer wrap around care with Breakfast Club from 8am and structured extended school clubs and childcare until 6pm daily. We are also able to provide an extensive Holiday School provision during the summer and at Easter holidays.
Both school sites have a well-resourced nursery provision for 3 and 4 year olds. We currently offer funded places and have a flexible approach to how families wish to use their allocation. Additional hours can be purchased and childcare vouchers are accepted - for more information refer to the Nursery class pages on the website.
At Waveney Valley we have it covered!
Please spend some time looking around our website and if you are interested in viewing our schools we would be delighted to show you why we are so proud of them. We truly are small schools with huge ambitions.
